The Spiritual Valentine

Love need not always be romanticized. If you observe every thing that you experience in life is born out of love.

Valentine’s day has always been a very debated topic. But instead of the debate, if we focus on the very essence that this day brings. ‘The essence of Love’.

Yes, the same love amongst couples that St.Valentine gave his life protecting for. And yes, the ageless, forever love of Radha & Krishna who are never separate and yet could never unite. The sacrificial love of Sita to uphold the word of her dear Lord Ram. Or The long waiting love of Suhayla and Farooq that still moves the listeners. Sure, one could involve Movies too. From Romeo Juliet, Heer-Ranjha, Anarkali-Salim to Devadas-Paaro, its love the most inherent and abundantly available emotion that we are talking about.

But why restrict this day of love to only couples. Love is everywhere if we identify it. Love is in the care of a mother. You see it as ‘concern’ within a father. Love is ‘all disputes, mischief’ and ‘support’ you get with siblings. Love is the ‘freedom and madness’ with friends. Love is the ‘attention’ of a teacher to a student. Love is the ‘service’ of a doctor treating a patient.

Love is the ‘silent efforts’ of a man to keep his family going. Love is the ‘unsung sacrifice’ that a soldier makes for his countrymen. Love is coming back home to your pets. Love is in The Rising Sun, So it is, in the cooling breeze. It is there in the heights of a mountain to the depths of the deepest ocean. It pours from the rain, Its in the water quenching your thirst. Its a part of us as our food. Love is the Compassion that a total stranger shows you. Love is the RESPECT that you show others even if they are different from you. If you seek love, love is everywhere. Because that is what God is all about. That is what God always wanted US to be about.

Should it be just about one day then? No way. But yes, It has to definitely start One day. When technology brings us closer today it is also ironically creating separation among us.

We learn that man needs Food, clothing and Shelter to survive…but we also know every man out there needs Caring Love just to be alright because its the fabric of our existence of our universe. Lets overcome the differences, fill the gaps with pure love. You just need to stretch your hand with love my friend and you will find manifold love in return. For that's who we are, loving beings.
